February Nail Art Challenge: Polka Dots

Day 8. I can't believe the challenge is almost over already :-/. I've had so much fun creating all these different nail art designs and seeing all the other talented ladies come up with even better ideas!

Today's theme is Polka Dot nails. I wanted to do one of the cute little bear nails that I have been seeing on Pinterest, but it ended up looking like a mouse with a wonky ear. lol. Oh well, I thought it was really cute anyways!

The polishes I used:

Sinful Colors Nirvana
Zoya Avery
OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts
OPI Alpine Snow
OPI Black Onyx

Valentine's Nail Art Challenge: Sweet Treats

Today's theme of the Valentine's Day Nail Art Challenge is Sweet Treats. At first, I wanted to do the conversation hearts, but figured that would be done quite a bit and also I couldn't find a design that I thought I could execute well enough. So, I ended up deciding on a cupcake/polka dot hybrid design. I loved this! When I showed my boyfriend, he said, "That looks very....Hello Kitty-ish." lol!! Well, good enough.

The polishes I used for this mani were Zoya Shelby, Zoya LC, OPI Alpine Snow, and two red rhinestones.

Valentine's Nail Art Challenge: Dotticure

Today is the first day for the 5 Day Valentine's Day Nail Art Challenge hosted by Pretty Polished Pointers. Even though I am already doing two others, none were too demanding, so I figured I would join this one, too.

For my dotticure, I did a cute flower design using dotting tools and some rhinestones. Of course, surrounded by polka dots. :)

Colors I used:
OPI Big Apple Red
Julep Carrie

Purple Mixed Valentine's Manicure

While this mani could be worn outside of Valentine's Day, I still thought it was 'sweet' enough to be classified as a Valentine's mani. I was getting tired of all pink polishes :)

And for this I used:
Essie Play Date
China Glaze Grape Juice
Orly Be Brave
OPI Stay The Night
Orly Prelude To A Kiss

February Nail Art Challenge: Half Moons

I definitely took some liberties with this half moon mani. lol. As you can see, only two of the nails actually ended up being half moons. My base color (Julep Carrie) was taking soooo long to dry, even with a fast dry top coat that when I used the binder reinforcements for the half moons, they were making big dents in the polish. Also, I ended up smudging one and had to start all over with dry time.

I must say, though, these half moons turned out way better than my first failed attempt. And, I really did love the color combo and the mani itself. You all know I love me some bows and polka dots! lol.

Colors used for this mani:
Julep Carrie
Essie Turquoise and Caicos
OPI Alpine Snow

ABC Challenge: Cross

It's that time again already! Another day of the ABC Challenge! Today is letter 'C', and I did a mixed mani with a cross accent nail. I really had a hard time deciding a theme to do...there are so many cool mani's that start with a 'C'. Circles, clouds, cupcakes....just to name a few.

I really liked how this turned out, but next time I think I will use caviar beads for the cross instead of rhinestones so that I have room to make some little flourishes at the ends.

The polishes that I used were:
Zoya Bevin
Picture Polish Heavy Metal

ABC Challenge: Bow

Today's letter for the ABC Challenge is the letter B! I want to try to do as many entries as nail art as I possibly can for this challenge. I chose to to a bow for the letter B. Here is what I came up with:

I used OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts and Zoya Lo for this mani. I also used a small plastic bow. I got a set of all different shapes and sizes off Ebay really inexpensively. If anyone is ever looking for nail art supplies, I suggest checking Ebay. They have pretty much everything and it's all super cheap.

Dots Mani

I love, love, love how this mani ended up. This post at Tuxarina was my inspiration, and then I changed the colors around to support my Cleveland Browns :) I honestly didn't think I was going to be posting this, so I didn't take nice bottle pics and pics in a light box. Just quickly snapped this at work today.

This look was super easy to create with a dotting tool. The design and colors together reminded me of 70's retro furniture or wallpaper for some reason.

The polishes I used were:
Base: China Glaze Kalahari Kiss
White: OPI Alpine Snow
Orange: Essie Meet Me At Sunset
Brown: China Glaze Mahogany Magic
Base Coat: Orly Bonder
Top Coat: Seche Vite
